Unlimited license (Solver)

Analysis involving a large-scale mesh processing or a transient analysis with a typically increasing number of cycles comes at a high time consumption.

Parallel processing using multiple cores is a way to save calculation time but this is worth it as long as your license permits.

Unlimited license available on request removes the restriction of core counts and maximizes the capability of Solver’s parallel processing to meet the increasing industrial demand to fasten time-to-market phase.

Monitor analysis status

Gain access to Solver’s prominent feature that improves parallel efficiency regardless of the degree of parallelism increase

In aerodynamic analysis, efficiency is 54 times higher when the degree of parallelism is 72, and likewise. 113 times when its 144, and 210 times when its 288. In a sirocco fan analysis, 52 times in 72, 105 times in 144, and 184 times in 288.

Parallel efficiency can also be expected when dealing with an analysis of a large number of elements. Performing multiple parallel processing under the unlimited license is a competitive necessity since benefit is enormous.

Obtain high accuracy results fast

Let’s introduce some analysis cases to see the full potential of CFD with the unlimited license.

Figure 2 shows a transient analysis of a bubble ring using free surface function. It shows an interface with a volume fraction of solid phase 0.5. The two are applied with the same condition but only the mesh is different. (Left: 170 thousand elements, Right: 5.54 million elements)

The difference is obvious. In a second actual time, no bubbles remain in the left whereas fine bubbles are formed in the right. These bubbles look as though they have disappeared because mesh is rough and the volume fraction of solid phase is averaged to 0.5 or smaller.

This case demonstrates that satisfying accuracy is ensured even with fine mesh and small bubbles are well visualized. Because where the interface may appear could not be predicted here, fine mesh had to be generated in the entire region.

However, generating mesh in this scale requires a huge computational time. Most customers would want to “brainstorm analysis conditions in the morning, run several cases during lunch break, and compare them in the afternoon”. The bubble ring analyses both took 30 minutes. The difference is the degree of parallelism: 2 for the left and 96 for the right.
