Finite Element Method (FEM)

Finite Element Method (FEM) is one of the methods used in the discretization of partial differential equations (or PDE).

It is a method to obtain simultaneous linear equation (algebraic equation) by deriving weak form equations using Method of Weighted Residuals and expressing them by node value and shape function of each mesh element.

Both structured and unstructured mesh elements can be used. Although this method can be applied to complicated geometries, a substantial calculation load is imposed.
