Finite Volume Method (FVM)

Finite Volume Method (FVM) is one of the methods used in the discretization of partial differential equations (or PDE).

It is a method to obtain simultaneous linear equation (algebraic equation) by discretizing governing equations in the integral form for each individual space. Both structured and unstructured mesh elements can be used. The method has a good conservation of physical quantity, and it can also be applied to complicated shapes; however, it is difficult to make it have higher-order accuracy.
