Discontinuous mesh

Discontinuous mesh

Discontinuous mesh is the connection of mesh elements which do not share the same faces or ridges.

In general, adjacent two mesh elements must share the same face and ridge. However, by using discontinuous mesh, it becomes possible to refine mesh elements for a specific area around an object, where flow changes rapidly.
