Software Cradle Joins SIMULIA's Partner Ecosystem to Expand Fluid-Structure Co-Simulation Capabilities

Osaka, Japan, August 29, 2008 -- Software Cradle today announced that it has joined the SIMULIA Software Alliance Program.  The partnership will allow Software Cradle to develop and deliver a highly efficient direct, two-way data exchange between their general-purpose computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, SC/Tetra, and SIMULIA's Abaqus finite element analysis (FEA) software.

The existing one-way coupling between SC/Tetra and Abaqus enables accurate calculation of thermal-stresses, for example, in an engine and exhaust manifold.  The new collaborative effort will enable direct, two-way coupling, which is essential for simulating transient phenomena involving either small or large deformations of the solid material. Two-way coupling will enable the solution of a much broader range of applications across many industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, consumer products, electronics, and machinery.

"We are pleased to welcome Software Cradle as a member of our program", said Tom Battisti, SIMULIA's Director of Alliances.  "Direct coupling between Abaqus and SC/Tetra will deliver a best-in-class multiphysics solution that will enable our customers to solve some more complex fluid-structure interaction problems."
