| Pre-Processor is a program to prepare the data for the solver, and that creates shapes, generates meshes and sets up the conditions. Heat
Designer's Pre-processor is equipped with a GUI specialized for thermal design of electronics. |
| Mesh Generation |
HEAT Designer is utilized with structured mesh (Cartesian and cylindrical coordinate). It enables automatic mesh
generation using standard length and geometric ratio. You can save the time to set the mesh every time when you create or import a part, because the number of mesh divisions
can be set on each part.
  |
| Deformation Function (rectangular approximation) |
There are cases that mesh is not generated uniformly or as you want it to be with the use of automatic mesh generation.
To prevent such nonuniform mesh generation and false recognition of the original geometry, the geometry can be converted into shapes with staircase pattern prior to mesh
generation. This function enables you to fix mesh location and keep surface area and volume after meshing.
 |
| Condition Setting |
HEAT Designer focuses on simulating air flow and heat transfer, so that condition setting can be easily done in
accordance with wizard.
HEAT Designer is based on STREAM, multi purpose thermal fluid analysis system with structured mesh, and they basically share the same wizard. Therefore, you can smoothly move
up to STREAM wizard if you want to use more functions of STREAM.
  |
| CAD Import |
Heat Designer can import 3D CAD data (e.g. Palasolid(X_T),STEP(.stp),STL) and IDF data, which is used in electronic
board designing as a model geometry. The useful functions such as the simplification of complicated geometry, the batch deletion by size and the click-designated deletion help
you to utilize the CAD data, especially for analysis of electronics that may include complex component, too little parts and/or too many parts.

Initial wizard also enables placement of parts and assembly, scale conversion and creation of various computational domain according to what kind of simulation you would like
to do. |
| CSV file |
An user usually defines material property, but it would be too much work for a data that contains hundreds or thousands
of parts and it would increase the chance of making a mistake. As a solution to such troubles, HEAT Designer is implemented with CSV file interface which enables you to create
parts data in an Excel format with part name, material property heat flux and so on to set those data at once . In addition, you can ask somebody else to prepare those data by
giving the excel file since it does not require a license, and you can reduce your workload.
