Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy  (Enacted: August 19, 2008 / The Latest Revised: September 27, 2018)

Software Cradle Co., Ltd. (“Cradle”) wish to serve society by providing software of value, software with unique features, software promising new possibilities and services related to them to society in general. We also believe that allowing you to use our software and related services with peace of mind is an important part of being a company that serves society. For this reason, Cradle will protect and handle the personal information that we collect from you appropriately in accordance with the privacy policy set out below (the “Privacy Policy”).

  1. Cradle will abide by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other laws relating to the protection of personal information, guidelines stipulated by the Japanese government and the Privacy Policy.
  2. Cradle will obtain personal information by fair and legal means.
  3. Cradle will handle personal information only within the scope allowed by law and the scope of the purposes consented to by the person to whom the information pertains. Cradle will supervise its officers and employees to ensure that they handle personal information appropriately.
  4. Cradle will not provide personal information to a third party without the prior consent of the person to whom the information pertains, unless allowed by law.
  5. Cradle will take reasonable safe management measures to prevent personal information from being improperly accessed, leaked, lost or damaged.
  6. If Cradle outsources all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party, Cradle will supervise the outsourcing provider, including by selecting a suitable outsourcing provider, concluding necessary agreements and being aware of how personal information is treated, to ensure the safe management of the personal information for which Cradle outsources handling.
  7. If Cradle receives an inquiry about the handling of personal information or a request or inquiry for the disclosure, correction, cessation of use, deletion or cessation of provision to third parties of personal information from the person to whom the personal information pertains, Cradle will respond to the inquiry or request appropriately and in good faith.
  8. Cradle will strive to improve and enhance the Privacy Policy to appropriately protect and handle personal information that we receive.

2. Purposes of using personal information

Software Cradle Co., Ltd. (“Cradle”) uses personal information that it obtains or possesses for the following purposes.

I. Personal information pertaining to customers and business associates in our business activities (meaning the development of scientific and technical computation software, development and sale of thermal-fluid analysis software, consulting services, education and operation training, and the like)

  1. To advertise, make proposals, provide information, contact, enter into agreements and perform other marketing activities relating to software, technical support and other products and services that Cradle handles
  2. To provide software, technical support and other products and services that Cradle handles
  3. To conduct research, analysis and surveys relating to software, technical support and other products and services that Cradle handles
  4. To improve, plan and develop software, technical support and other products and services that Cradle handles
  5. To notify, advertise, provide information, manage, operate and conduct analysis and surveys relating to exhibitions, seminars, campaigns and other events that Cradle conducts, participates in, cooperates in or is otherwise involved with (“Cradle Events”)
  6. To respond to inquiries about products and services that Cradle handles and Cradle Events
  7. To provide the personal information to Hexagon and its group and Cradle’s distributors (collectively, “Affiliates”), but only when it is determined that having an Affiliate respond is appropriate when contacting, providing information or responding to inquiries regarding products and services that Cradle handles and Cradle Events
  8. To provide the personal information to companies that sponsor, cooperate in or exhibit at Cradle Events (“Sponsor Companies”), but only to the Sponsor Companies for the event that the customer or business associate applied for

II. Personal information pertaining to applicants in recruiting activities

III. Personal information pertaining to employees (including former employees) and their families

3. Providing personal information to third parties

Cradle will not provide personal information to a third party without the prior consent of the person to whom the information pertains, except in the following cases or when allowed by law.

(1) Provision to Affiliates

When Cradle determines that having an Affiliate respond is appropriate when contacting, providing information or responding to inquiries regarding products and services that Cradle handles and Cradle Events, Cradle may provide the following personal information items to the Affiliate within the scope of the following purposes.

Cradle may provide the following personal information items to Sponsor Companies within the scope of the following purposes.

  • To notify, advertise, provide information on, manage, operate and conduct analysis and surveys relating to Cradle Events that the Sponsor Company sponsors, cooperates in or exhibits at
  • To advertise, make proposals, provide information, contact and perform other marketing activities relating to products and services that the Sponsor Company handles and events that it hosts or exhibits at

4. Information Regarding Cookies

When you view this Web Site, or any other hyperlinked Web Site, we may store some information on your local computer in the form of a "cookie", which allows us to adjust our Web Site to better match your preferences. Cookies are also used to collect general usage and volume statistical information that does not include personal information.

Behavioral Targeting/Re-Targeting

We partner with a third party advertising network to either display advertising on our Web Site or to manage our advertising on other Web Sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other Web Sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. Web Beacons

Our Web Site contains electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) and are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyze how our Web Site is used, and may be used in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients.
